Yegua Knobbs Wildlife Release

On Saturday, October 18, Wildlife Rescue released 22 young (first year) White-tailed Deer at our Yegua Knobbs Preserve. There were 12 does and 10 bucks. All were tagged with a number (and their name): the bucks were tagged in the right ear, and the does were tagged in the left ear. Along with the deer four young skunks were also released. The Wildlife Rescue personnel involved were Preston and Sandy Doughty and Hayley McCardle. Here are some photos of the release.

The deer, all 22 of them, arrived in the box on the trailer above. Nobody was quite sure of where to go when they first got out. But most of them caught on quickly. A test: there are 5 deer in this picture. Can you find them? Haley and some of her young friends enjoying the Knobbs.
